Your writing is lovely. TB killed some of my family members in the early 1900s, as well. What an unfair fate for young people with so much life ahead of them. I love that you've kept Ned's memory alive with these posts.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17084306881984142254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30079744.post-7263710530386360322014-04-26T00:23:35.063-07:002014-04-26T00:23:35.063-07:00Kathy, I'm so glad you liked it, especially gi...Kathy, I'm so glad you liked it, especially given your special connection to the McCormicks. I appreciate your kind words, as I, too, believe everyone's life is worth remembering. I only wish I could figure out who the Michael O'Connor you mention was married to. It might help solve a few other mysteries! Although I never met Benita, I did cross paths with her through the mail when I wrote to her about who her cousins were in Ireland. She is the one who directed us to her then-deceased cousin's husband - Michael O'Connor. Our first visit in 1981 resulted in a lifelong friendship with Michael and his family. My Uncle Jack (O'Brien) spoke to us often about his friend Bud's (Phil McCormick) family - Benita and Phil and his sister, Jane. I think it's wonderful that you are documenting these people's lives so they are not just a name with some dates next to them!!!<br />Kathy Mietlickinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30079744.post-13683414074506627732014-04-25T11:31:23.460-07:002014-04-25T11:31:23.460-07:00Wow! Tuberculosis was so devastating in those days. My own great-grandmother died of this terrible illness when she was only 26 years old.Jana Iverson Lasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07687969613629975601noreply@blogger.com
